It's not selfish to care for yourself.

Respite care, planned or emergency, is the provision of short-term, temporary relief to those who are caring for family. Respite also provides a positive experience for the person receiving care.

This Day of Caring is a way for caregivers to learn about resources at the national, state and local levels that support recovery, rehabilitation and relaxation for their families and themselves. The event, sponsored by the DHHS, NLRN, NE Caregiver Coalition, and CNCAP will be held at the Pederson Senior Center, 2020 West 11th St., Kearney, NE. There is no fee for the event. Lunch will be available to those who register and are in attendance.

The keynote speaker will be Donna Beick, Multi-generation Family Caregiver, and Family to Family Co-teacher.

Other sessions include the following topics:

Veterans Services & Resources; Dena Hawkes, SSVF Coordinator - CNCAP

Caregiver Resource Panel; AARP - Jina Ragland, NE Caregiver Coalition - Suzy Campbell, ADRC - Erin Davis, DHHS/NLRN - Sharon Johnson and
